Well, it’s that time of year again, Christmas has rolled on by. The big day is over and done with, bellies are full and toes are up by the fire. My thoughts drift to the year that has flown past me in the blink of an eye…
My year has been marked by travel, travel and more travel. I’ve flown back and forth through Dublin Airport more than 35 times this year, about 33 times too many!! I’ve clocked up over 30 trips to the UK for work and two more pleasurable trips to Cuba and Singapore/New Zealand.
So what have I got to show for my year that I didn’t have last year? Well, work-wise there is a gas pipeline designed that wasn’t designed this time last year. I have learned more than I ever wanted to know about pipelines and all the complexities and idiosynchrocies that go with them. And on the home front, I have a man in my life that wasn’t there in January. He kinda took me by surprise when he showed up. It took him a while, but he convinced me to let him in on my big trip to the other side of the world and it was the making of us.
And so my thoughts turn to the year ahead. Well, hopefully the pipeline might make some more progress, a few step closer to being actually put in the ground. And maybe some more progress between myself and himself too. Next on the agenda is moving in together!!
